According to reports, US Secretary of State Anthony J. Brinken called Foreign Secretary Shah Mahmoud Qureshi on Monday. FM Qureshi emphasized the importance of maintaining contact between the international community and Afghan leaders.He expressed the hope that Afghan leaders will use the opportunity of international convergence to support the peace and reconciliation process.

The Foreign Minister and the US Secretary of State emphasized that the two sides need to continue to coordinate and cooperate closely to ensure meaningful progress in the peace process.
The two sides also exchanged views on key issues such as regional connectivity.
