TikTok responded to the suspension of the application by the Sindh High Court on Thursday, saying that it is cooperating with the authorities to “review and take action against content that violates our community guidelines.”

TikTok said in a statement: “The creativity and enthusiasm of our community brings joy to families across Pakistan and provides a home for talented creators.”

It added: “We have improved our ability to review local languages in Pakistan and have worked hard to review and take action on content that violates our community guidelines.”

“We will continue to work with regulators and look forward to serving the millions of TikTok users and creators in Pakistan who will find their homes for creativity, fun and important economic opportunities for many years to come,” the video The shared application concludes.

Earlier this week, nearly three months after Pakistan lifted the ban, SHC has ordered the suspension of TikTok, a video sharing app throughout Pakistan, until July 8.

The ruling was made after the petitioner stated in the SHC that the Peshawar High Court had earlier banned TikTok because some videos uploaded on the platform were “immoral and contrary to Islamic teachings”.

The lawyer has stated that his client had contacted the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) before moving the court, but PTA did not do anything in this regard.
