He added that the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Houston “continue to make every effort to ensure that Dr. Siddiqui is properly taken care of during FMC Carswell’s imprisonment”.

Dr. Aafia is a Pakistani neuroscientist sentenced to prison in the United States. He was indicted by the Federal District Court of New York in September 2008 for murder and attempted assault. The cause was an interview with US authorities in Ghazni, Afghanistan The incident-the accusation she denied.

After being detained for 18 months, she was tried and convicted in early 2010 and sentenced to 86 years in prison. Since then, she has been detained in the United States.
