Lahore: Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Usman stated that a temporary animal market will be established in the city for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr on July 3, 2021.
He said it when presiding over the meeting on Tuesday. He said that the number of animal markets will not be less than last year. He said that the Congo virus seminar should be held 10 and 5 days before Eid to protect everyone from animal-borne diseases. Advertising activities should also be carried out on the provision of facilities, fur donations and law enforcement in the animal market. The commissioner said that in view of the threat of rain at the sacrifice animal market and sales points, increasing drainage arrangements is essential.
The Lahore Commissioner instructed that the advertising campaign should include an instruction to only provide skins to registered organizations. He said that currently there will be 12 markets in the city and Article 144 will be implemented to prevent illegal sales points. During Eid al-Fitr, the police will strengthen police security and patrols around markets and sales points. He also instructed the district government to create digital portals for all markets and sales points, and upload daily progress.
