Pakistan’s coronavirus vaccine supply is satisfactory: NCOC

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) said in a statement on Tuesday that the country’s COVID-19 vaccine supply is satisfactory.

This development took place during the NCOC meeting in Islamabad, with the National Coordinator Lieutenant General Hamood-uz-Zaman Khan as chairman. Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health, and Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz Sati, Chairman of the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), attended the meeting.

The statement said that during the meeting, the forum discussed the launch plan of the 3 million doses of Coxing vaccine scheduled to arrive from China today, including the procurement plan in June.

“The Chairman of NDMA informed [the meeting] Regarding the efforts made for the vaccine procurement plan in the allocated budget of 1.2 billion US dollars, “the statement said, adding that the forum reiterated that all federal units can purchase vaccines by the end of the year.

So far, Pakistan has purchased 21.13 million vaccines produced by different companies. The statement said that of the total, 17 million were purchased.

Next, the forum expressed concern about the rise in the positive rate of coronavirus in Gilgit-Baltistan and emphasized the strict implementation of standard operating procedures for tourism in the northern part of the country.

The statement added: “Reiterate that federal units have the right to decide on their own to plan summer vacations in their respective educational institutions.”
