Pakistan records third wave of lowest daily death toll

Islamabad: Pakistan reported 20 new deaths on Monday morning, which is the lowest daily number of coronavirus deaths since the third wave of outbreaks began in late February.

Prior to this, the country had last reported 16 deaths from the virus in one day during the third wave of the outbreak on February 21.

The country’s positive rate is currently 2.5%.

In the past 24 hours, 44,496 COVID-19 tests have been conducted. Of these, 914 was positive. This is reflected in the daily statistics of the National Command and Operations Center.

So far, the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the country has reached 22,231, the total number of cases has reached 955,657, and so far 91,201 people have recovered from the virus. The current number of active cases is 32,225.

In the past 24 hours, Punjab and Sindh provinces had the highest number of deaths, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Of the 20 deaths in the past 24 hours, 11 died from ventilators.
