Islamabad: Today, at a camera meeting of the National Security Council of the Parliament Building, military leaders are briefing legislators and discussing several important issues, including the situation in Afghanistan.

The source said that in addition to the internal situation, the camera meeting will be notified of the situation in Afghanistan, India, and Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) illegally occupied by India.

Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, Director General of the Inter-Service Intelligence Service (ISI) briefed the Parliamentary Committee. The Chief of Staff of the Army (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and the Director-General of Inter-Service Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar also attended the meeting.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that important leaders of the opposition party in the parliament have been invited to the meeting because they will have full confidence in the recent developments in Afghanistan and national security affairs.

These opposition leaders include the opposition leader of the National Assembly Sheikhbaz Sharif, the leader of the opposition party in the Senate Said Yusuf Raza Gilani, the chairman of the People’s Party Bilavar Bhutto Zardari, JUI- F Parliament leader Maulana Asad Mahmood and ANP leader Ameer Haider Azam Khan Horti.

Prime Minister Imran Khan did not attend the meeting.

Mobile phones are not allowed in the conference room, so the mobile phones of all participants have been taken away.

The audio and video recordings of the meeting will be sealed before the speaker.

Bilaval welcomes the briefing

Bilawar earlier announced that after welcoming the National Assembly Speaker Assad Kaiser’s decision to convene a meeting of the agency, he will participate in the National Security Council (NSC) meeting of Afghanistan.

On Monday, Bilawal said on Twitter that he had requested relevant departments and agencies in the National Assembly to inform the Parliament of the situation in Afghanistan.

“We welcome the Speaker’s decision and will participate in the NSC committee meeting on this topic,” the PPP chairman wrote on Twitter.

Pakistan has repeatedly raised the issue of peacefully resolving disputes in Afghanistan and has urged all parties to sit down and resolve their differences.

Prime Minister Imran Khan pointed out in his interaction with the American media that there is no military solution, and Pakistan does not have a favorite.

Since the beginning of the withdrawal of foreign troops, there has been an increase in violence in this war-torn country.

In a recent interview, Dr. Moeed Yusuf, National Security Advisor, also expressed concern about the current situation in Afghanistan, saying that “the situation is not good.”
