Marine Sanctuary vowed to play a role in eradicating polio

Lahore: On Tuesday, the Marine Reserve decided to make the polio campaign a success in the province. This determination was expressed at a briefing on the topic of the polio emergency in Pakistan held by PILDAT.
MPA met with Chairman of MPA Muhammad Afzal, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Health, and discussed the polio situation in Punjab at the briefing. Ahmed Bilal Mehboob, President of PILDAT, welcomed the attendees and said: “In these Covid eras, although our main focus is on vaccination against Covid, the situation of polio cannot be ignored. Although polio cases are on a decline but Efforts are needed to completely eradicate the disease and the elected members of Punjab can play a vital role if engaged in the polio eradication campaigns effectively.”
Earlier, Dr. Ujala Nayyar, a monitoring expert, introduced the polio situation in Punjab in detail, highlighted high-risk areas, and asked members to support the polio eradication team.
The Punjab Marine Reserve has promised that they are ready to play a role in the eradication of polio in Punjab. They suggested that polio publicity activities should be organized in schools, and vaccination certificates should be mandatory when enrolled. MPA expressed concern about overwork and underpaid polio staff.
