Hostile foreign agency involved in the bombing of Jowhar town in Lahore: CM Punjab

Lahore: The Punjab government requires foreign hostile agencies to be responsible for the bombing of Jowhar town in Lahore a few days ago.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar (Usman Buzdar) said at a press conference on Monday: “The terrorists responsible for the bombing in the town of Jowhar in Lahore have been arrested.” “An anti-Pakistan agency is involved. The bomb exploded,” he added.

He said that the Punjab Anti-Terrorism Department (CTD) had traced the culprit behind the incident within 16 hours of the explosion.

The Chief Minister expressed appreciation for CTD Punjab’s professional pursuit of the case in order to expose the people behind the attack.

“All local and international roles behind the explosion have been identified [by the CTD Punjab],” he said. “I want to inform our media friends that we conducted raids across the country in just four days to arrest terrorists involved in the incident. “

The Chief Minister called it a “great achievement” of the Punjab Provincial Government and stated that all those involved in the incident have been arrested. Buzdal said those who sold, bought the car and planted explosives in it were arrested.

Buzdal said that after a thorough investigation and obtaining sufficient evidence, the authorities concluded that “an anti-state agency was directly involved in the terrorist incident and provided financial support for the people behind the bombing in Jowhar Town”.

“I want to inform you that the Punjab Provincial Government has tracked down all high-profile cases in the province and arrested their suspects,” he added.

Punjab Inspector General (IG) Inam Ghani delved into the details of the investigation, saying that CTD Punjab was able to arrest criminals “within hours” after the incident, adding that the police were able to determine how the car used in the explosion was purchased and by what method .

“We have arrested the main key figures in the bombing in Pakistan,” Ghani said. “We have arrested people who were used to carry out explosions in Pakistan, and those who bought and repaired cars have also been arrested,” he revealed.

Ghani said that 10 Pakistanis were arrested for the bombing, adding that they included men and women. He said the Punjab police also managed to identify the personnel of foreign institutions involved in the incident.

“We shared [the information] Work with our intelligence agencies to find out who the members of these anti-state agencies are,” Ghani said. “According to the instructions of the Chief Minister, a joint investigation team was also established to further investigate the case,” he added.

The Punjab Police Chief said that the way the attack was carried out showed that this is not the first time the organization has carried out subversive activities in Pakistan.

“We will also investigate what activities the agency has carried out in which areas in Pakistan, and we will come to a conclusion,” he vowed. “In terms of hostile anti-state institutions, we currently have names, but if others are involved, we will find them too,” Ghani added.

In answering a question, the Punjab Provincial Attorney General dismissed media reports that the suspect’s name had been included in the Fourth Schedule of the Terrorism Act.

Gani said that the car used in the explosion was stolen in 2010 but was recovered by the police in 2011. He said that according to the footage obtained by the CCTV camera, it can be seen that a policeman stopped the car, but it has Superdari [vehicle seized by police during a criminal case but later released to the person entitled to its possession] file.

He shared more details about the suspect who carried out the attack.

“Although he was born in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the man is a resident of Punjab and speaks fluent Punjabi,” he added.

In answering another question, IG Punjab said that “you all know who the hostile agency and the hostile country are”, but he did not name him and said that the police had shared relevant information with Pakistani intelligence agencies.

He said these agencies use agents to make money and carry out subversive activities in Pakistan.

“It’s not like their own members are entering the country and carrying out these attacks. Unfortunately, they have a lot of agents here doing this. [for money],” he added.
