Islamabad: A local court remanded a man arrested for killing the daughter of a former Pakistani diplomat in Islamabad on Thursday awaiting trial. Geographic News Report.
Earlier today, the police handed the defendant, Zahir Jaffar, to the judge on duty, demanding that he be remanded in custody awaiting trial. The police detained the defendant for three days.
It is worth mentioning that the 27-year-old victim Noor Mukadam (Noor Mukadam) was found brutally murdered in the federal capital on Tuesday, sparking a nationwide campaign to bring justice to her.
According to the police, the deceased was the daughter of Shaukat Mukadam, who was former Pakistani ambassador to South Korea and Kazakhstan.
The police claimed that Noor was killed at her home in the F-7 district of the city, adding that she was hit by a sharp object. The person accused of her murder has been arrested and is said to be the son of a business tycoon.
SSP Attaur Rehman said in a conversation with reporters on Thursday that the police had rushed to the scene after learning of the incident and arrested the suspect from the crime scene. He said the suspect is still in police custody and added that an investigation is ongoing to determine the motive for the killing.
The police officer said that they are also interrogating the domestic helper in the murder case.
SSP denied reports that the defendant was mentally ill, but said that when the police arrested the suspect, the suspect was fully conscious. He clarified that he was not drunk at all.
“A forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, which will help investigate this murder,” he added.
SSP said the suspect attacked another person and injured him before the police arrived there to arrest him.
