Bilawal told PPP staff that elections “may happen at any time”

The Bharatiya Janata Party chairman Vilavar Bhutto Zardari said on Thursday that the country’s general elections “can be held at any time” and asked his party members to be prepared for this situation.

The PPP chairman said at an event in Karachi that the Sindh government has been competing with MQM-P and the federal government in recent years.

“Only PPP can save Karachi,” Vilavar said, adding that the party aims to solve Karachi’s problems, including water shortages and garbage disposal.

The PPP chairman stated that Sindh has been treated unfairly in terms of water supply because so far the federal government “has not even increased its water supply by a percentage point.”

“We must end the water stealing in Karachi,” he added.

Bilawal said that another problem facing Karachi is the increase in garbage. “There is no development work in several areas under the rule of MQM-P.”

The PPP leader stated that his party will improve the city’s road conditions before launching a new transportation system.

“PPP is the only political party that thinks about and works for ordinary people,” he said.

He laughed at the federal government and its allies, saying “Karachi is emerging as a new MQM in the form of PTI.”

He criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan for not fulfilling his promise. He said that the Prime Minister neither introduced new projects to the city nor solved the water problem in the metropolis.

“We will ensure that Karachi does not steal water […] In order to solve Karachi’s problems, a political and administrative balance needs to be struck,” he said.

“The PPP will form the next government and send selected packages from Karachi to Azad Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

The PPP chairman stated that Karachi’s parliamentary seats “will play an important role when the PPP forms a government in the center”.

He laughed at MQM-P, saying that “the terrorists of the party have been eliminated from Karachi.”
