Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood announced on Wednesday that after July 10, examinations for the ninth, middle, first and second grades will be held nationwide, “whatever.”
The minister said in a speech to the National Assembly during the budget meeting that several problems arose when the government decided not to conduct examinations last year.
“But now, we have decided that no results will be awarded without examinations,” the Minister of Education said. He said that it is “unfortunate” for some people to ask not to take the exam even now in Parliament.
Mahmoud said that Sindh, Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and all other provinces unanimously decided to conduct inspections.
Mehmood said that due to the coronavirus, the government was forced to close schools, but switched to another method and introduced an online education system.
“We decided to integrate all educational institutions through a digital system,” he said.
He said that the single national curriculum will be implemented nationwide, adding that it will be followed in female priests and private and government schools.
“This is the first time a separate curriculum has been designed for ethnic minorities,” he said.
The Minister of Education said that Ittehad-e-Tanzeem Madaris also agreed that their students will also take preparatory, FA and FSC exams.
Mehmood stated that the PTI-led government has allocated 124 billion rupees to the education sector, which he claimed is “125% more than the allocations allocated by previous governments”.
