Pakistan receives another tranche of 3.5m Pfizer jabs from US

Pakistan received another tranche of 3.5 million Pfizer anti-Covid vaccines from the United States on Wednesday.
This takes the total "number of COVID-19 vaccine doses donated by the United States to Pakistan to 15.7 million," the US Embassy in Islamabad said in a tweet.

Earlier, the US had shipped 6.6 million doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines to Pakistan through COVAX to assist the country in vaccinating its population against the coronavirus.

Two days ago, on September 13, the Sindh government received 320,580 new Pfizer vaccine doses sent by the US through the COVAX facility, the US State Department said in a press release.
According to the government’s official Covid portal, a total of 22,873,298 people have been fully vaccinated in the country as of today.
The country reported 2,714 new cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours, taking the tally for confirmed cases to 1,212,809.
At least 73 fatalities were also reported during the period. A total of 26,938 patients have succumbed to the virus in the country so far.
About 10,923 recoveries were also reported in a day, taking the total recoveries to 1,108,339.
