Sindh government spokesman Murtaza Wahab claimed on Sunday that the chief ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were favored by the federal government because they “kept silent”.
“They like’silent’ people like Usman Buzdar. They like KP CM because he remains silent,” Wahab said at a press conference in Karachi.
A spokesperson for the Sindh government stated that CM Murad Ali Shah in Sindh is not liked by the federal government because he “will not remain silent”.
He added that if CM Shah raised his voice, it would be “a good thing”.
Wahab also slammed the federal government’s funding in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
The Minister of Law stated that the plans of KP, Balochistan and Punjab are visible in the PSDP appropriation, but Sindh, “promoting the country’s economic development, did not even allocate appropriations for individual projects in the plan”.
“Sindh is not given its rights [but] Faith cannot be ignored,” Wahab said.
Wahab also lashed out at the Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s statement on the Sindh audit. Chowdhury has said that the center will audit the funds provided by the federal government to Sindh.
“You give us money to no advantage to us. This is not your father’s money, it is our constitutional right,” Wahab said. He added that federal ministers “don’t know” what they must do and can only make a statement.
The provincial government spokesperson expressed regret that the federal ministers mocked the Sindh provincial government for not giving any power to the local government. He said that the PTI government did not allow any local government to work across Pakistan.
“The local government only completed their term of office in Sindh,” Wahab said.
The spokesperson also shared that the Governor of Sindh Province Imran Ismail rejected the Sindh Provincial Assembly approved the “Sindh Protection of Journalists and Other Media Practitioners Act 2021.” He said that Parliament will pass the bill again and send it back to the governor for approval.
Fawad Chaudhry attacked the Sindh provincial government during his trip to Karachi
Earlier, Fawad Chowdhury slammed the Sindh government’s governance in the province.
When talking to reporters at the Karachi Press Club, Chowdhury said that the funds provided by the federal government to the Sindh government were “found in Dubai.”
“Sindh’s greatest enemy is currently ruling the province. Funds flowed out of Sindh through activation and false accounts, so Karachi did not get its fair share of the budget,” Chowdhury said.
He also said that PPP won the elections in Sindh in 2018, but in the next general election, PTI will win elections across the province.
In conversations with reporters, Fawad called for monitoring the money given to Sindh.
