On Monday, four police officers were arrested and suspended for injuring two students in a fake encounter in the Sachal district. Two teenagers, 15-year-old Baitullah and 14-year-old Asif, were fired at them during a quick check inside the Sacchal police station on Sunday night and injured. After the shooting, the police sent them to Jinnah Graduate Medical Center for treatment.

On Monday, a video statement by an injured student became the center of attention. Batura said in a statement that although they had stopped the motorcycle, the police still opened fire on them.

“We stopped the motorcycle and raised our hands, but despite this, the police opened fire on us, saying,’you guys are thieves,’” Batura claimed. He added that the police also asked where their accomplices were. “I don’t know why they think we are robbers,” Baitullah commented in a video statement recorded on the hospital bed.

ASI Asghar Ali, police officers Sabir and Bahadur, and Abdul Qadir were found to have participated in the fake encounter and were arrested after Baitullah’s father registered the case.
