FM Qureshi pledged to his Afghan counterparts to bring the criminals in the envoy’s daughter case to justice

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureshi assured the Afghan Foreign Minister on Monday that all possible measures will be taken to arrest the perpetrators involved in the incident involving the daughter of the Afghan ambassador.
In a phone call to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Mohamed Hanif Atmar, Qureshi briefed him on the measures taken by law enforcement agencies since the July 16 incident and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
He said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs understands diplomatic norms and mentioned that the security of the Afghan embassy and consulate in Pakistan has been strengthened.
He said that in view of the serious efforts made by the Pakistani government, Pakistan hopes that the Afghan government will reconsider its decision to recall its ambassador and senior diplomats.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Foreign Minister Atmar thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for his personal interest in investigating the incident.
He also appreciated Foreign Minister Qureshi’s efforts to strengthen the security of the Afghan embassy and consulate.
Hanif Atmar said that Afghanistan attaches great importance to bilateral relations with Pakistan and is committed to maintaining peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the foreign ministers of the two countries agreed to continue cooperation on issues of common concern.
