CM House Sindh office will close as coronavirus cases increase

On Monday, an official notice stated that the office of the Chief Minister of Sindh will continue to be closed due to the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the province.
The notice stated that 14 offices, including the media team, the protocol team and the public complaint team, will remain open, with an attendance rate of 50%, while the remaining offices will remain closed.
The notice added: “A decision has been made to ensure the safety of employees at the Chief Minister’s Residence during the fourth wave of coronavirus outbreak.”
The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, said in a statement later in the day that seven more people have died from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll Rose to 5,840.
The Chief Minister said that after 16,975 tests were conducted, there were 2,153 new cases – bringing the province’s positive rate to 12.7%.
He said that 39,182 patients are currently receiving treatment, of which 37,971 are in isolation at home, 67 are in isolation centers, and 1,144 are in different hospitals.
CM Shah said that 1,024 patients are in critical condition and 77 have been transferred to ventilators.
Among the 2,153 new cases, 1,732 were found in Karachi, 537 cases were reported in the southern district of the city, 520 in the eastern district, 307 in the central district, 124 in the western district, 123 in the Marial district, and 121 in the Korangi district.
Hyderabad registered 149 cases, Thatta 59 cases, and Naushero Feroze 30 cases. The Chief Minister urged people to follow the security measures issued by the government to prevent the spread of the virus.
