  • Schools in Punjab will reopen on August 2.
  • The school runs at 50% capacity.
  • The morning class starts from 07:00 to 13:00.

After a meeting of the federal and provincial education ministers, the government rejected the proposal to extend the summer school vacation in Punjab.

The Minister of Education of Punjab Province, Murad Raas, announced on Twitter that schools in the province will reopen on August 2.

Murad Raas announced that all schools will operate at 50% capacity on any given day.

Schools have been advised to comply with all safety regulations and strictly abide by COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

At the meeting of education ministers, it was discussed that the students had already suffered a lot, so it was decided that the government should not make any more compromises in education.

The provinces have made decisions based on the number of coronavirus cases. It is also recommended that schools be opened later for areas with a higher COVID-19 positive rate.
