Another batch of Pfizer vaccine arrives in Pakistan: NDMA

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) confirmed on Wednesday that another batch of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine has arrived in Islamabad.
According to an NDMA spokesperson, the shipment has been handed over to the federal health department.
At the same time, the National Medical Products Administration announced on its Twitter account that the country also received 700,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm vaccine on Wednesday.
In May of this year, Pakistan received more than 100,000 doses of Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine through the COVAX facility. With the help of UNICEF, these drugs have been delivered to the country.
COVAX is a global vaccine sharing program jointly led by the World Health Organization, the Gavi Vaccine Alliance, and the Epidemic Prevention Innovation Alliance (CEPI).
The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant to Health, Dr. Faisal Sultan, once stated that only people with weakened immune systems can get Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine.
