Judicial Committee investigates the cause of death of Senator Usman Kakar

The Balochistan government announced on Sunday that it would set up a judicial committee to investigate the death of Usman Khan Kakar, a senator from the Pakhtunkhwa People’s Party.

According to the notice given to the Registrar of the Balochistan High Court by the Government’s Ministry of Interior and Tribal Affairs, it is recommended that the committee include the two judges of the court, namely Judge Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Judge Zaheer Ud Din Kakar.

The notice stated that the senator “died on June 23,” and then his family “claimed that the death seemed unnatural and that it is worth investigating the cause of death.”

It also pointed out that considering the importance of the case, a judicial committee composed of the above-mentioned judges can be established in accordance with Article (3) paragraph 1 of the Baluchistan Tribunal Regulations 1969, who will determine the cause of death of the deceased senator.

It requested that the nomination be passed on to the distinguished judge so that the committee can be notified.

Senator asks for investigation

At the time of his death, Information Secretary PkMAP Reza Mohammad Reza reported that Kakar was being treated in a private hospital in Karachi after he fell.

Several senators from both sides of the disagreement paid tribute to the deceased senator at the parliamentary meeting. The House of Representatives passed a unanimous resolution, expressing deep sorrow for the death of Kakar.

Former deputy chairman and BJP Senator Salim Mandeviwala said that Kakar’s son and other family members told him at the Karachi hospital that they wanted to find out the real cause of death and whether he was murdered.

The PPP senator said that the surgeon from Quetta told him that the kind of head injury and blood clotting that appeared on Kakal’s head was “impossible from a fall.”

He said his family wanted his autopsy and he was at home alone when the incident happened.

Autopsy found no signs of torture

According to the autopsy report, a copy can be found in Geographic News, and no signs of torture were found on Kakar’s body. The only traces found on the body were the surgery and intravenous (IV) cannulation during his treatment in the hospital.

The actual cause of death will be announced in the pathology report, for which several samples were collected from the body.

After the autopsy was completed, Kakar’s body was handed over to his family for burial. Kakkar’s family said they will review the pathological samples.
