The British High Commissioner, Chief Christian Turner, acknowledged that Pakistan “has made continuous efforts for peace and stability in the region,” the Public Relations Department of the Armed Forces said on Friday.
According to ISPR, Turner “committed to further strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom” during a meeting with Army Chief of Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa (Qamar Javed Bajwa).
ISPR said that the two discussed issues of common concern, the regional security situation, including the latest developments in the peace process in Afghanistan, and cooperation in combating COVID-19.
During the meeting, General Bajwa stated that Pakistan “values Britain’s balancing role in global and regional affairs”.
“We look forward to optimizing the strategic potential of our relationship on the basis of integration,” the statement further quoted General Bajwa as saying.
