As the country celebrates the second day of Eid al-Fitr, Pakistan’s coronavirus cases continue to increase

Islamabad: Pakistan’s coronavirus cases continue to pile up, and the country recorded 52,752 active virus cases on the second day of Eid al-Adha.

According to statistics from the National Command and Operations Center on Thursday morning, in the past 24 hours, another 40 people have died from the coronavirus in Pakistan, and the country has recorded 2,158 new positive cases.

According to NCOC, 34,216 tests were performed yesterday, and the positive rate remained above 6%. The current positive rate is 6.30%.

The number of deaths due to disease in the country has now reached 22,928, and 922,929 patients have recovered from the infection.

At the same time, more than 450,000 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in one day.

Due to Eid al-Fitr, vaccination centers across the country were closed for only one day (July 21). All vaccination centers will reopen today.

In a tweet, NCOC asked citizens to be vaccinated and to ensure compliance with the COVID-19 SOP.

Pakistan marks the second Eid al-Fitr in the shadow of the coronavirus
