Covid killed 16 more people in Sindh and infected another 1,075

In the past 24 hours, 16 people have died from Covid-19 in Sindh, and another 1,075 people have tested positive for the disease. The number of deaths due to viral coronavirus infection in the province has reached 5,552.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said in his daily situation report on health emergencies on Wednesday that 17,959 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, resulting in 1,075 people ( (Accounting for 6% of screened persons) were diagnosed with Covid-19.

He added that so far, the provincial government has conducted 4,614,449 tests, resulting in 343,286 positive cases, which means that 7.44% of the people screened were found to be infected.

Shah said that after the recent deaths, the number of confirmed cases in Sindh who failed to fight Covid-19 was 2%. He said that 21,851 people in the province are currently infected: 21,102 people are self-isolating at home, 65 people are in isolation centers, 684 people are in hospitals, and 632 patients are in critical condition, 52 of whom are receiving life support.

He added that in the past 24 hours, another 505 people have recovered and the number of people cured has increased to 315,883, indicating a recovery rate of 92%.

CM said that of the 1,075 new cases in Sindh, Karachi has reported 846 (or 79%): 289 of the city’s new patients were from the Eastern District, 201 from the Southern District, 156 from the Central District, and 88 The cases were from Korangi District, with 61 people in West District and 51 people in Mariel District.

As for the rest of the province, Hyderabad reported 29 new cases, Sukkur 26, Qambar 16, Thatta 14, Jamshoro, Nawabshah and Sanghar 12 each, Badin and Sujawal 11 each, Dadu 9, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Tando Muhammad Khan, he It was added that Tando Allahyar and Naushehroferoze had 8 each, Matiari and Umerkot had 7 each, Larkana had two, and Jacobabad and Ghotki had one each.
