Textile factory worker was shot dead in Lyaquatabad

On Monday, two suspects killed an employee of a textile factory in a targeted killing in Liaquatabad.

According to the Shaikhabad police, 26-year-old Shaikh Aizaz was attacked on the Karimabad flyover when he was riding a motorcycle to a workplace in the Karimabad area. Among the two men who were also riding motorcycles, he died shortly after he was shot twice in the head and chest.

His body was taken to Abasi Shahid Hospital for an autopsy. The police said that the deceased was a resident of the Kasimabad area of ​​Liaquatabad and was on his way to the textile factory where he worked. They said the attacker had been following him.

Since his father died a few years ago, he has been the only breadwinner in the family. SHO Abdul Khaliq Ansari confirmed that this incident was a targeted killing and the motive behind the incident has yet to be determined. However, he said that the incident apparently occurred out of personal hostility.

The police found the empty shells of two 9mm pistols at the crime scene and sent them to the forensic department of the Sindh Police Department for ballistic cross matching. In addition, a young man was shot and wounded in a shooting incident when he expressed resistance to a robbery bid in the Shah Latif area.

He was taken to Jinnah Graduate Medical Center for treatment. The police said the man ran a mobile phone shop and the incident occurred when he returned after withdrawing Rs 200,000 from the bank. In another incident, 15-year-old Fahad, the son of Fayyaz, was injured after resisting a robbery bid by Gulistan-e-Jauhar. He was taken to JPMC for treatment.

Robber injured

On Monday, a robber was shot and injured by his accomplice during a robbery bid in the Malir Cantonment area and was subsequently arrested. CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media, showing two suspects riding a motorcycle to rob lawyer Mohamed Omar. However, a brave young man standing nearby caught one of the robbers, prompting the other to open fire and wounding his accomplices.

Both suspects managed to escape the scene, but the police took action and arrested the injured suspect Rab Nawaz, who had sought treatment at the Jinnah Graduate Medical Center. The police said the suspect was disguised as a victim of a street crime in the hospital.
