Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Gwadar tomorrow (Monday) for a one-day visit to oversee the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and lay the cornerstones for several projects.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Federal Minister during his visit to the city, and he is expected to supervise the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) on the 1.2 billion gallon water supply project and the desalination plant.
According to sources, the prime minister will also oversee China’s agreement to provide grants for solar generators in Balochistan.
In May of this year, the Pakistani Prime Minister stated that Pakistan puts the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the first place and is firmly committed to completing its projects as soon as possible, which will open up huge opportunities for economic growth and development in the region and other regions.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister’s comments were made during a meeting between him and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong in Islamabad.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, vaccine cooperation, and bilateral high-level exchanges.
“As a pioneer project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has made important and significant progress in infrastructure, energy, ports and industrial parks,” Khan said.
The Chinese ambassador has stated that Beijing is willing to work with Pakistan to promote the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, extend it to regional countries, improve people’s livelihood, and play a greater role in regional connectivity and economic integration.
