Prime Minister Imran Khan says Pakistan accepts the Chinese version of the Xinjiang issue

Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Thursday that Pakistan believes in the Chinese version of the situation in Xinjiang and emphasized the Western bias in this regard.

In the interaction with the Chinese media, the Prime Minister stated that the Western media’s failure to mention the most serious human rights violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir is hypocritical.

“The UN Security Council resolution on the Kashmir dispute accepts the Kashmir people’s right to self-determination,” he pointed out.

This is the first time that Prime Minister Imran has publicly expressed his views on this matter and supports China.

Before that, whenever foreign media asked about the situation in Xinjiang, he told them that the two countries talked behind closed doors.

“China-Pakistan relations will not change under any pressure”

The prime minister mocked the United States, saying that it is improper to put pressure on other countries, and stressed that Pakistan-China relations will not be affected by any pressure.

The prime minister said that despite any pressure on Pakistan, Islamabad’s relationship with Beijing will not change.

“The United States wants Pakistan to choose sides. This is inappropriate,” he emphasized.

He added: “The relationship between Pakistan and China is very deep, not just the government, but the civil relationship.”

“No matter what happens…[the] The relationship between our two countries, no matter what pressure is put on us, will not change,” the prime minister said in response to a question.

He mentioned the regional alliances supported by the United States, including the “four-nation alliance” between India and several other countries, and said that this is part of the competition among major powers in the region and may cause problems.

“Pakistan thinks this is very unfair to the United States and other Western powers…[to ask]… Let a country like Pakistan stand in line. Why do we choose a side station? We should establish a good relationship with everyone,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that when Pakistan encounters political or international troubles or conflicts with neighboring countries, China will always stand by it.

He said that the Chinese people have a special place in the hearts of the Pakistani people.

“You remember those friends who have been standing with you all the time. In good times, everyone is standing with you, but in times of difficulty, difficulty, and depression, you will remember those who stood by you.”

“The Great Leader”

Prime Minister Khan praised President Xi’s success in fighting poverty and corruption in China.

“China has lifted 700 million people out of poverty in just a few years. This is a remarkable achievement. We hope to further develop the political, economic and trade relations between the two countries.”

Pakistani Prime Minister Khan said that Pakistanis were deeply impressed by the Chinese President’s fight against corruption and considered him a “modern great politician.”

“Chairman Xi Jinping’s anti-corruption campaign is effective and successful.”

‘CPC is a unique model’

In congratulating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, the Premier said that this is a unique model and flexible enough to adapt to changes.

The Prime Minister believes that China’s system is superior to Western democratic systems.

“China’s process of finding talents and then polishing them is better than any electoral democracy.”

He said that in our society and Western countries, it is difficult to bring about changes, and it is always impossible to do better things for society.

“China’s success lies in its system’s ability to accept change.”

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that a high-level committee has also been set up to monitor the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) related projects and ensure that their roads are free from obstacles.

The Prime Minister said that he will also go to Gwadar next week to monitor the progress of related projects in the corridor. He said that his visit to China is also about to begin and will focus on further strengthening bilateral relations.

He said that Pakistan hopes that the special economic zone established in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will attract Chinese industries.

He said that we also hope to benefit from China’s agricultural expertise in order to increase the productivity of this economic sector.
