Yadi KS5 Pro review: This electric scooter strikes a balance between price and comfort

Must Read

I have been testing a lot of of Electric scooter This year, Yadi’s KS5 Pro He was one of the first to offer a good compromise between virtues. It’s not like 64-pound Apollo ghost, But it is not so light that it shakes violently on the smallest potholes Slidgo X8.

It is located somewhere in the middle and provides a comfortable ride with enough power for anyone in the city who doesn’t have too many steep slopes. Its price of $759 reflects this. But it is not without flaws. Its range may be better than the price, some functions are associated with the app, I really don’t like the way you control the functions on the display. Oh, it’s still quite heavy.

Get up and go

A simple unboxing experience can be a double-edged sword. The KS5 Pro comes in a big box at my door, but unlike some electric scooters I have tried, it is not stuffed with foam to protect the whole thing during transportation. The unboxing process is faster and less messy (no Styrofoam is glued to every item in the house!), but I also noticed that the small tip of the rear fender has broken off. Please pay attention to this.

You may have noticed that this is the Pro version, which means there is a Standard KS5 is also. This version is equipped with a 350 watt motor with a top speed of approximately 18 mph, while the Pro is equipped with a 500 watt motor with a top speed of 22 mph. The standard version also has a smaller battery; for this reason alone, I suggest you spend an extra $120 on the Pro (more on that later).

You only need to use the included hex wrench and four screws to connect the top handlebar with integrated display. But you may need to adjust the strength of the rear brake. Strangely, the included hex wrench does not fit the nut on the brake, so I had to use my own.

It’s easy to fold up. Push the lever on the front of the valve stem and loosen the clamp, then lower the valve stem completely. You can hang the handlebar on the rear fender to make it easier to carry. However, when it is in the folded state, the stem will not Stay Hooked up, looks very sloppy.

I like being able to pick up my electric scooter and take it to the store (rather than risking it to park on the streets of New York), which usually means lifting it up a few stairs. The KS5 Pro is not as heavy as some electric scooters I have ridden, but 46 pounds is not exactly lightweight. This is controllable, but it is a good reminder that I should go to the gym soon.

Annoying app

Yadi, a Chinese company known for its traditions Electric scooter similar to Vespa, The hardware here is well done. The orange and black theme of KS5 Pro looks very smooth, if you are faster, there is also a white and orange version. The height of the handlebars is not adjustable, but it suits me-I am 6 feet 4 inches tall, and I don’t need to stretch out my arms like a zombie to reach them. But it might be a bit high for you.

The spacious deck allows me to put my feet in front of the other, the stand is sturdy and reliable, there is a great built-in bell, a surprisingly bright front light and a tail light that is always on. There is also enough space on the handlebar to install a mobile phone holder.
