New Delhi: According to the latest monthly forecast of the research institute Counterpoint, Xiaomi has become the world’s largest smartphone company in June 2021, surpassing South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung. This is the first time that Xiaomi has become the market leader in the smartphone category dominated by companies such as Samsung, Apple and Huawei.
According to Counterpoint’s June 2021 data, Xiaomi’s monthly sales have increased by 26%. The substantial increase in sales helped the Chinese company oust Samsung from its leading position in the global smartphone market.
Prior to this, Xiaomi had surpassed Apple to become the world’s second largest smartphone brand. The company recently surpassed Samsung in Europe in the second quarter of 2021.
The latest data shows that in June, Xiaomi ranked first with a market share of 17.1%, and Samsung ranked second with a market share of 15.7%. After these two smartphone brands, Apple ranked third with 14.3% of the global smartphone market.
