Lahore: The Power Workers’ Union requires the government to take emergency measures to provide industrial, commercial, agricultural and domestic electricity consumers by building cheaper sources of power generation, such as hydroelectric power stations and gas-fired thermal power stations, rather than independent private thermal power stations. Provide cheaper power houses (IPP). They also asked the government not to privatize the distribution of bills.
A resolution passed at the Wapda/Electric Workers Conference at the Bakhtiar Labor Department under the Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union CBA across Pakistan on Wednesday set out these requirements.
Union leader Kurshid Ahmed presided over the meeting. The workers have lifted the ban on recruiting line and meter readers for more than five months to prevent accidents of line personnel and ensure safe working conditions.
They said that Safraz Ahmed from the Hafizabad branch of the informant died of the electric shock, while the Qazi Amin informant from Islamabad was shot to death by criminals and sent to the hospital. A resolution urged the prime minister and ministers to increase the wages of industry, trade, banking and media workers by at least 30%, commensurate with the price increase in the federal budget.
