Witnesses said that the wine bottles in Shajir’s ward were filled with honey and olive oil.

On Saturday, a witness announced that bottles confiscated from the ward of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon contained olive oil and honey.

The witness was a director of the laboratory and chemical inspection department, which was responsible for inspecting the bottles sent by the prison authorities. At that time, Pakistan’s Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar (Mian Saqib Nisar) suddenly visited the prisoner. The PPP leader was transferred from the prison to the hospital due to health problems.

The assistant warden, who was submitted to the FIR on the order of the then Chief Justice, also appeared to have recorded his testimony.

He confirmed in front of Judge Nan, who presided over the trial, that these bottles were sent by him for chemical inspection.

In February 2020, the court sued Memon and three domestic helpers Shakar Din, Mushtaq Ali and Muhammad in the alcohol possession case. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.

It is alleged that two bottles of wine were found in the Memon room of Clifton Ziauddin Hospital, which has been declared a sub-prison by the provincial family authorities.

According to the charge, the co-defendants admitted that they poured wine into the trash can and replaced the contents. They were detained for tampering with evidence.

After the incident, the PPP leadership appeared in the media, insisting that the bottles were filled with honey and olive oil. The content of the chemistry report is the same, it does not contain alcohol. Meimen’s blood report also did not find any traces of alcohol.

However, the then Karachi Police Chief Dr. AIG Amir Ahmed Shaikh set up a special team to investigate the case because he suspected it was a foul. The special team subsequently prepared the report and assisted the investigation team.
