Who should not get Moderna vaccine

The NCOC stipulates certain conditions that you need to meet before you can get the Moderna vaccine. The following conditions mean that you should not be vaccinated:

  • If you have a severe allergic reaction (allergic reaction) or immediate allergic reaction to any component of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (such as polyethylene glycol) or the first dose of the vaccine, even if it is not serious, you should not receive the second dose mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Pending further research results, the vaccine is not recommended for people under 18 years of age.
  • Generally speaking, people who have an immediate non-allergic allergic reaction to the first dose should not receive an additional dose unless recommended by a health professional with professional knowledge after review.
  • Those who have recently experienced a mild COVID-19 episode can be vaccinated after the quarantine period is over.
  • People with severe COVID-19 can be vaccinated once they are clinically stable.
