Rawalpindi: General Kamal Javed Bajwa, Chief of Staff of the Army, said on Monday that as China and Pakistan work for peace, they need to stay strong to thwart the designs of all hostile forces that challenge their determination.

The Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that this development took place during a meeting between the Chief of Staff of the Army and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong at the headquarters.

The Army Chief of Staff told the ambassador that both countries need to thwart the attempts of those who threaten their strategic cooperation.

The Chief of Staff of the Army expressed his heartfelt condolences and deepest condolences to the government and people of the Republic of China, especially the families affected by the Soviet incident.

The Chief of Staff of the Army said that the Pakistani army attaches great importance to the brotherhood with its tried-and-tested friends and guarantees the full support and safety of Chinese citizens working in Pakistan.

The military media added: “Both sides agree that there is a need for continuous participation and coordination for peace and stability in the region.”

The bus fell into the ravine

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that on July 14, a bus carrying workers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province’s Upper Kochistan crashed into a ravine “after a mechanical failure caused a gas leak and an explosion”. .

According to the statement, the Chinese workers and accompanying Pakistani staff are “going to their workplaces for an ongoing project”.

The accident caused 12 deaths, including 9 Chinese citizens.

Dasu Hydropower Project is about to resume: FO

Afterwards, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zahid Hafiz Chaudhry said that Pakistan and China will continue to work on completing the project and other projects in cooperation with China in a timely manner, and will soon resume work on the Dasu Hydropower Project. .

In response to media inquiries about the notice of Chinese companies, the spokesperson said in a statement: “The Chinese construction company China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) has announced its advance notice through its latest notice regarding the termination of the employment contract in the Dasu Hydropower Project. The working Pakistani staff is invalid.”

He further stated that the safety and implementation issues of the relevant projects are under investigation, and the relevant departments of Pakistan and China have been in close contact.
