Chief of Staff of the Army (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa (Qamar Javed Bajwa) said on Tuesday that Pakistan is “willing to do everything possible to help Afghanistan reach an inclusive solution that is vital to regional peace and prosperity.”
Speaking to a delegation of eight Afghan leaders, he said that the country hopes to establish “broad relations” with Afghanistan and reiterated that Pakistan stands with the Afghan people.
The Afghan delegation included Salahuddin Rabbani, Muhammad Younis Qanooni, Ustad Muhammad Karim Khalili, Ahmed Zia Masoud, Ustad Muhammad Muhaqiq, Ahmed Wali Masoud, Abdul Latif Pidram and Khalid Noor.
According to Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR), the current situation in Afghanistan was discussed in detail.
The delegation affirmed and appreciated the sacrifices, unremitting efforts and contributions made by the Pakistani army to the peace, stability and socio-economic development of Afghanistan, and expressed its views on the road ahead for Afghanistan.
