Urban Meyer sticks to his old methods.

The head coach of the Jaguars did not seem to relax the schedule for entering the NFL offseason, as the league fined the team $200,000 for organised team activity violations on Thursday.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Meyer paid himself a fine of $100,000.

John Reid of the Florida Times League added details: The Jaguars were fined for violating non-contact rules during the team’s OTA:

Meyer has had several controversies over his college coaching resume, and he is entering his first season with the Jaguars.

Most notoriously, Meyer retired from Ohio State University in 2019 because of the cover-up of domestic abuse involving former assistant Zach Smith in 2015. For the first three games of the 2018 season, Ohio State University suspended Meyer because he played an important role in cover-ups.

Earlier in this offseason, he became angry after hiring former Iowa fitness coach Chris Doyle, who was accused of using Racial discrimination.

Doyle, who was hired as the director of sports performance in Jacksonville, resigned the day after he was appointed to the position in February.

The training camp hasn’t started yet, Urban.
