The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FIA) has arrested two of its own officials and they are charged with releasing a terrorist suspect in exchange for a promise of bribes worth 100 million rupees.

According to an FIA spokesperson, an FIR has registered against a person, Noman Siddiqui, because of his involvement in the transfer of funds from Europe (including the United Kingdom) via Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

He said that the money was allegedly from drug smuggling and some of the money was also used for terrorist activities. Siddiqui is said to belong to the Muttahida Qaumi movement in London. According to the FIA ​​CTW report, Saleem Belgium of MQM-London planned to carry out a bomb attack in Gulistan-e-Jauhar in December 2018, and MQM MPA participated in the bombing plan. According to the CTW report, Siddiqui funded the bomb blast.

An FIA spokesperson said: “Two CTW inspectors exchanged the suspect Noman Siddiqui for the release of the suspect Noman Siddiqui at a price of 100 million rupees. The two inspectors have been arrested and have been arrested under the anti-corruption law. File a case against them.” Confirmed.

The suspects are Inspector Pervez and Investigator Inspector Aqeel of the Sindh Police in charge of the counter-terrorism department, and a private individual. In April, the FIA ​​arrested its former officials on suspicion of involvement in corruption. According to an official of the agency, the FIA ​​Anti-Corruption Circle arrested Abdul Jaafar, the former deputy director of the cybercrime circle. He was accused of taking 63 million rupees from an IT company, of which he has received 14 million rupees.

He allegedly provided improper benefits to private IT companies. According to Article 161 of the PPC, officials of the company were also nominated as defendants by FIR for their role in abetment. The agency claims to have obtained evidence. Jafar was released on bail in a registered case against him.
