Lahore: Sarah Aslam, Minister of Primary and Secondary Health Care of Punjab Province, has issued a notice instructing the department to step up its dengue prevention efforts in Punjab Province after two cases of dengue fever have been detected in Punjab Province .

According to the notification, in the past 24 hours, Lahore has reported two confirmed cases of dengue fever.

The notice said: “This year, the province has reported 70 confirmed cases of dengue fever, of which 33 cases were reported in Lahore.”

The notice also showed that in the past 24 hours, 297,401 indoors and 66,398 locations were inspected across the province, and dengue larvae were eliminated in 137 locations.

The notice stated that in Lahore, 8,947 houses and 3,651 outdoor locations were inspected for dengue fever larvae and 65 positive containers were destroyed.

Sarah Aslam urged the public to pay special attention to cleanliness and take measures to prevent dengue fever, especially monsoon rains have begun.

She added that in addition to preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, preventive measures against dengue fever should also be taken.

Sarah Aslam further stated that citizens should be held accountable and warned them not to store water indoors or outdoors, because hygiene can prevent dengue mosquitoes from breeding.

She also asked the public to cooperate fully when the health department team came to check homes and commercial centers for dengue larvae.

She added that dengue fever is very dangerous and can cause death.
