TikTok is reportedly working on building its own US shopping fulfillment centers, as Axios analysed from LinkedIn job postings in Seattle and Los Angeles.
The company is apparently going to be providing warehousing, delivery, and returns for merchants while ensuring “fast and sustainable growth of TikTok Shop”.
Previously TikTok introduced certain features to its platform that allowed users to have Shopify accounts connected to TikTok.
According to reports, the social media company may be partnering with TalkShopLive for live shopping plans in the US. One of the job listings stated that: “The e-commerce industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has become a hotly contested space amongst leading Internet companies, and its future growth cannot be underestimated. With millions of loyal users globally, we believe TikTok is an ideal platform to deliver a brand new and better e-commerce experience to our users.”
The company also told Axios that it aims to provide “a selection of merchants which offer a range of product options as well as delivery options.”
