  • Pakistanis need to obtain a vaccination certificate issued by NADRA before travelling to the UAE.
  • Travelers do not need to obtain a certificate certified by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Pakistan.
  • The decision will take effect on August 1, 2021.

The United Arab Emirates issued new guidelines for Pakistani travelers on Thursday, and it is mandatory for them to carry the coronavirus vaccination certificate issued by the National Database and Registration Agency (NADRA).

Earlier, the UAE stated that Pakistani passengers also needed to obtain certificates from the United Arab Emirates Embassy in Pakistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but later withdrew the decision.

“The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Islamabad would like to clarify that a vaccination certificate for COVID-19 is currently not considered a necessary condition for travel to the UAE,” the embassy posted a clarification statement on its official Twitter account.

According to the UAE Embassy in Pakistan, the policy of presenting NADRA vaccination certificates will take effect from August 1. The new policy applies not only to ordinary citizens, but even diplomats and their families must go through the same procedures.

Earlier, the UAE announced that it would continue to ban flights from Pakistan and 13 other countries until July 21, 2021.

Other countries include India, Nigeria, South Africa, Liberia, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Zambia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka.

In the notice, the UAE Federal Aviation Administration has stated that cargo flights and commercial and charter flights will receive exceptions.
