“The suspect threatened to kill the couple,” Islamabad police informed the Senate committee

The Islamabad police said on Wednesday that the attacked Islamabad couple had been blackmailed and the suspects threatened to kill them because they emphasized that they had extorted 1.1 million rupees from the victims.

Police officials in Islamabad issued the above statement during the appearance of the Senate Standing Committee’s Internal Affairs Committee. They revealed that the victims wanted to keep a low profile and rejected the proposal to have security guards protect them.

In response to a question, the police stated that the video was recorded in November 2020, but once it was disseminated, the suspect was filed.

“We have tracked the victims and they want to keep a low profile. In their statement, they told us that the suspects extorted money from them,” the official said.

The police said that although they asked to appoint a security guard for them, they refused, adding that the victim could not be forced. “We even offered to provide security for plainclothes security personnel, but they refused.”

The police stated that seven to eight of them were detained. The main suspect and two video producers have been arrested, and a police team was sent to a province to arrest the remaining suspects.

The committee was informed that through a forensic audit of the suspect’s mobile phone, no other victims’ videos have been found so far.

In addition, they said that the main suspect was reported to be very rich and politically connected. “However, investigations revealed that his connections are not so good. He just wants to be famous.”

According to officials, the victims stated in a statement to the police that they were engaged.

At the same time, DIG Islamabad notified the committee that it had added a part of the first information report (FIR) that could lead to life imprisonment or death.

He further stated that in accordance with the Anti-Rape Law, a special joint team has been set up to conduct an on-camera investigation.

During the meeting, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat stated that he was investigating In the case of a waving man D-Chowk’s weapon.

The deputy director stated that the preliminary investigation revealed that the man was mentally unsound, but the medical committee had the final say.

Another woman said she was harassed by Mirza

A day ago, another victim of Autoland’s co-owner Usman Mirza (Usman Mirza) spoke up, saying that the main suspect in the Islamabad attack had harassed and blackmailed her.

Mirza and six of his associates were arrested by Islamabad police for harassing and assaulting a young couple in Islamabad. According to reports, he has a history of harassing women.

“Usman Mirza has been harassing me for some time,” a woman from Rawalpindi told Geographic News. “Usman Mirza sent me my home address and mobile number on social media.”

The Islamabad couple “came for 2.5 hours in the presence of 14 people”, the police told the court

The Federal Capital Police told the court on Tuesday that the Islamabad couple who had been harassed and tortured by real estate dealers and their accomplices had been filmed for 2.5 hours.

The police added that the trio filmed the attack in the presence of 14 people.

The police statement was issued when the Islamabad District Court heard the attack in the E-11 area.

The police told the court that after they found a pistol from the main suspect and real estate dealer Usman Mirza at the I-9 police station, they had registered another case separately.

The police added more sections to the FIR

Two days ago, during the court proceedings, the Islamabad police stated that they had filed charges of extortion and rape against the suspect.

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operation Afzal Ahmad Kausar said at a press conference yesterday that the couple mentioned in a written statement that the suspect had sexually abused them.

The new charges against suspects include sections 375-A, 375-D, 384, 342, 114, 395, 496-A and 377-B of the Pakistani Criminal Code. Express tribune Report, citing DIG Kausar.
