Lahore: Police sources said on Monday that in the murder of Malik Mubashar, brother of MPA Asad Khokhar, the main suspect, Nazim, killed the victim who “evaded him” after the suspect was released on bail.
In the initial interrogation, Nazim admitted to the murder of Malik Mubashar out of revenge, stating that MPA’s brother was suspected of participating in the murder of his brother and uncle.
Contrary to his previous statement, police sources revealed that the suspect’s uncle was not killed.
Sources said that Nazim killed a man named Mansa when he refused to appear in court to testify in the murder of the Nazim brothers. The suspect’s brother Aslam (pseudonym Bila) is hostile to the “Gata” organization.
Nassim and his accomplice Nadim killed Mansa in 2012. In this murder case, the court has sentenced Nadim to death and sentenced Nadim to life imprisonment. Nazim was released on bail in 2019.
Police sources said that MPA’s brother Malik Mubashar began to avoid the suspect after he was released from prison, adding that Nazem was angry at Malik Mubashar’s distance from him.
The suspect admitted to killing MPA’s brother in “retaliation”
Earlier on August 7, Nazim admitted that he had killed MPA Asad Khokhar’s brother in “retaliation.”
The appearance of the suspect in the incident exposed a serious error in the Chief Minister Bouzdal’s security agreement. He also participated in the wedding ceremony where the incident occurred.
During the initial interrogation, Nazim told the police that the MP’s brother Malik Mubashar was suspected of being involved in the murder of his brother and uncle. He told the police, “I killed Malik Mubashar in revenge.”
He once told the police that he arrived at the valima ceremony at about 8:15 am with a pistol, and added that the guards did not stop him from searching at the door.
He added that MPA Asad Khokhar and his brother Mudassar passed by him twice while sitting with other guests at the ceremony. The suspect said he walked out of the tent behind the chief minister of Punjab.
“When the Chief Minister of Punjab was sitting in his car, I opened fire on Malik Mubashar,” he told the police.
Nazim further told the police that he bought the weapon at a price of 4,000 rupees.
Police, special departments, Punjab CM office blame each other for the incident
No one is willing to take responsibility for the serious safety mistakes during the wedding. The Punjab Police, its special department and the CM office are all blaming each other for this incident.
According to SP Security Lahore Sardar Mavarhan khan, CM House notified the Chief Minister of Police of the participation one hour before the event.
He said that the Punjab CM arrived there on a private visit, adding that a DSP, two SHOs and about 40 police personnel were deployed to ensure the safety of the Chief Minister and other VIPs.
He insisted that they did not have time to install walk-in gates on site to conduct security checks on guests. Police officers believed that more than 1,500 guests were invited to this event, and it was impossible for them to check everyone.
However, police sources stated that SP security was not present at the location of the incident.
The Chief Minister has sought a report from the Punjab IGP and ordered a full investigation into the negligence of the site safety arrangements. He has stated that action should be taken against the defendant in accordance with the law.
