On Wednesday, the city court ordered the exhumation of the body of a 55-year-old woman who was allegedly raped and murdered before being secretly buried in the shrine by the guards.
Syed Faisal Ali, a lawyer for the victim’s family, said that the body excavation will be carried out on July 3 in the presence of a magistrate, and a team of four forensic experts and doctors will then examine the body to determine the facts.
According to the interim indictment, Rehana, the victim’s family member, reported to the police on May 1, stating that the woman had not returned home in the afternoon and her mobile phone could not be connected.
The police collected detailed phone records of the victim and found that her last contact was with the suspect Rizwan Hussain, who was Mutawalli (the guard) of the Hakim Syed Ahmed Shah Shrine in Saudabad.
The suspect claimed during the interrogation that the victim had visited him on the day of the crime, but she felt unwell and told him that her blood pressure and blood sugar levels were high.
The report quoted Hussein as saying that the woman fell on her face and lost consciousness. He then tried to awaken her by spraying water on her face, but she did not respond and stopped breathing. The suspect added that he was afraid to tell anyone about it, so he buried her in a room in the shrine and fixed the floor with concrete so that no one would notice. He later pointed out the location to the police.
The family claimed that the woman was raped and killed by the suspect. Their lawyer said that his client had applied to the court for a fair investigation of the case, and then the East VIII District Additional District and the meeting judge ordered the woman to be excavated.
The FIR of this case has been based on Article 302 (Premeditated Murder), Article 201 (Causing the disappearance of criminal evidence, or providing false information to the screening offender), Article 202 (Person obligated to inform deliberately not providing criminal information) The complaint was filed at Khokhrapar Police Station under Article 496-A of the Pakistan Criminal Code (to lure or take away or detain women with criminal intent).
