On Sunday, the Prime Minister’s National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf shared in detail the results of the investigation into the terrorist attack in the town of Jowhar in Lahore last month, revealing that the mastermind was an Indian national associated with the country’s intelligence agency RAW.

At a press conference in Islamabad, Yusuf finally switched to English to ensure that the international community can better understand the facts that emerged during the bombing investigation.

“I want to make sure our message is heard very clearly [regarding] This special event occurred in Lahore on June 23. We have specific evidence and intelligence, including financial and telephone records pointing to India’s direct sponsorship of these terrorists.

“Through forensic analysis, we have identified the main planner and processor of this terrorist attack from the electronic equipment found from these terrorists. We have absolutely no doubt or reservation to inform you that the main planner belongs to the Indian intelligence agency RAW. The institution is an Indian national and is headquartered in India,” he said.

Yusuf said that he wanted to remind everyone that “India’s use of the territories and people of a third country will actually embarrass other countries. This is not new.”

The national security adviser said: “We have been constantly reminding the world of India’s actions, including a detailed file released in November last year, which contains details about finances, actions and support from India-details.”

He drew attention to a recent report by the internationally renowned organization EU DisinfoLab, which described in detail “how hundreds of fake outlets were used to slander Pakistan, spread misinformation about Pakistan, and conceal that it is actually a country’s influence on our region. A country’s apparent sponsorship of terrorism”.

Yousef said that “very unusually” there is evidence that “after the attack in Lahore on the 23rd, there have been thousands of cyberattack attempts against our critical investigative infrastructure.”

“In some cases, the number and complexity of these attacks, in this case, are undoubtedly state sponsorship and state ties.”

He said that Pakistan’s cyber security is sufficient to stop these attempts, but before continuing to provide answers, he asked why the attack occurred.

The National Security Adviser said: “Our enemy wants to take time to divert attention and prevent us from trying to arrest and capture these terrorists. Therefore, these operations are carried out because our enemy wants to buy time to divert attention.”

Yusuf also pointed to the “drama” of the mysterious drone flying in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir region.

“What is the logic is now very clear. We can say it again with confidence. This is a diversion strategy, trying to divert the world’s attention from the facts. They knew at the time that we not only arrested the criminals, but we were exactly Know what is done behind the scenes and who is behind the scenes.”

The consultant said that the chief executor of Eid al-Fitr is of Afghan descent and lives in Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan has been expressing concern to the world. “Millions of law-abiding Afghan refugees have been dubbed notoriety. When these actors are hiding in these refugee settlements, Pakistan is blamed, and then Pakistan is questioned why one or two or not Arrest five villains and terrorists”.

Yusuf said that Pakistan reminds the world that “they have a responsibility to find a way for Afghan refugees to return with dignity, and then they may ask questions”.

“By then, this is a good example of complications when something similar happens,” he said.

Yusuf said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has instructed his team to “use all possible legal and political means to reach members of international terrorist networks outside Pakistan.”

“Therefore, we will share all the evidence with the international community and expose the evil and true face of a country in our neighbouring country that has been funding terrorism against our innocent civilians.”

The consultant called on the international community to play its role, saying that it is time to “stop turning a blind eye if they really take Pakistan’s peace and stability seriously and play a constructive and legally binding role for the safety of innocent Pakistanis” Up. The area”.

IGP Punjab briefing on the nature of the attack

Prior to Yusuf’s briefing, Inspector General of Police Inangani provided a description of the incident that led to the explosion.

Ghani pointed out that the explosion occurred at 11:09 am on June 23 in Block E in Jowhar Town and used a vehicle-mounted improvised explosive device (VBIED). The explosion killed 3 citizens and injured 22 others, including two policemen.

The explosion also destroyed 12 cars and 7 houses.

He said that the police’s counter-terrorism department immediately deployed to the scene and quickly sealed off the area and established an operating base.

“The CTD in Punjab has been committed to counter-terrorism work for a long time, and is at a mature stage where it can connect the dots very quickly and competently. Therefore, they not only discovered the entire plan [by the terrorists] Within 16 hours after the incident, the names of all persons involved in the case were also determined. “

He then pointed to a chart showing the terrorist networks involved in the attack.

IG Ghani said that the red boxes represent those who funded, planned and considered the entire attack outside Pakistan.

He said that the yellow ones are those who carry out the plan in Pakistan.

Peter Paul David’s participation

Among the executors is Peter Paul and David. He said that the 56-year-old is a resident of Karachi. “He spends most of his time abroad. He even runs a three-star hotel and arranges cabaret performances (a form of theater entertainment) there,” Gani said.

“He also did steel work for a while […] He is the key to linking Pakistan’s actions with foreign actors,” the police chief said.

IG Ghani said that when Paul received the order, he chose a car that was stolen in 2010. In 2011, he discovered that the engine had been tampered with, and then changed two or three hands. Then on superdari (released to the owner by the court awaiting trial).

“So it is an ideal car under these conditions. Even if it is used across the country, there are real super files. So he looks for such a vehicle, and we also know the person who reached the vehicle through him,” he said.

The Punjab Provincial Police Chief said that the work on the car engine has been completed and then a test run has been carried out, so there will be no breakdown at the last minute.

He said that the police collected details of all financing, phone calls and WhatsApp calls.

Participation in Eid al-Fitr

IG Ghani stated that the vehicle was handed over to Eid Gul, the executor of the attack. He conducted a test run of the car in Lahore and then fixed explosives on it. “He has specific details of where to go and where to park the car.”

Gani said that on the 21st, there were no explosives on the car, but he conducted reconnaissance in the area to determine all entry and exit points.

Then on the 22nd, he carried out another reconnaissance in a rickshaw to learn more about the area.

Ghani said that although Gul is an Afghan national, he has spent his entire life in Punjab, “so his language skills are very strong.”

“Whenever he interacts with anyone, he speaks Punjabi and no one doubts him.”

On the day of the Normandy landing on the 23rd, he brought the prepared car from Islamabad. The chief of the police said that the police had collected information about where and how the matter was carried out in the capital, the materials he had, and the fact that he was helped by his wife.

He pointed out that Gul crossed the highway and there was no interaction between passengers on the highway and local law enforcement officers. If anything, the only interaction is with the highway police. “So he spent the next 12 hours on the highway, stopping in a rest area in between.”

“Therefore, he did not use the inland roads of Punjab. He was probably stopped at any police checkpoint. Instead, he used the highway and landed at the explosion site.”

CCTV footage showed that the black car was parked in front of a house under construction. Ghani said he parked it at a place between the police motor vehicle and the police picket, so when the explosion occurred, shrapnel hit both.

Then he pointed to the house, which was also recorded by the CCTV camera. It can be seen that the car containing 20 kilograms of explosives has disappeared. Ghani said: “You can’t even see any part of the car.”

The Punjab police chief then talked about how the original report incorrectly mentioned the use of a rickshaw, which was also parked on the street. He said that in the photos, you can see very small car fragments, which usually does not happen, “this shows us how expert he is in preparing cars.”

arrest

IG Ghani said that all persons involved in the case in Pakistan have been arrested and the police are investigating some of the names that have surfaced to determine whether they are innocent or whether they are also involved.

“But the whole cell is right in front of us, like an open book, we fully understand their behavior,” he said.

Ghani also played audio clips of telephone conversations between the conspirators.

‘Success through coordinated efforts’

Information Minister Fawad Chowdhury said at the briefing, “Pakistan has waged a war against terrorism, and our efforts are obvious to all.”

“After the arrest of Kulbhushan Jadhav, we already have strong evidence that India plays an important role in Pakistan’s terrorism,” he said.

The minister continued: “Unfortunately, incidents continue to happen, and this time it proves that the establishment of India, its current government, is fully supporting Pakistan’s terrorist network.”

He congratulated IG Punjab and pointed out that this is a joint effort of all agencies, security forces and other agencies, thus exposing all connections, “We found that India is directly involved”.

“The gangs active in Pakistan have been destroyed, and the close coordination between the Punjab police, CTD, MI, and ISI has made us successful,” Fawad said.
