The man who ran away after killing his sister-in-law was shot dead

A man believed to be related to the murder of his sister-in-law in Karachi’s Paposh Nagar neighbourhood a few days ago was shot dead at his home in the early hours of Wednesday morning during a alleged clash with the police.

The police said that the suspect Arif Gul took his family hostage with a gun for at least six hours and tortured them, adding that the suspect also wanted to kill his two sisters. Officials said the suspect shot and killed his sister-in-law Hafsa in Paposh Nagar two days ago and shot her to the head, adding that he had tried to conceal the incident from the police and managed to escape during the investigation.

The police stated that the suspect had gone home on Tuesday to punish his family for recording their police statement against him, adding that in addition to the child, the suspect had pointed a gun at his two sisters and mother for at least six hours. At the same time keep beating them. .

Officials said that after the police arrived at the scene, the suspect ran to the roof of the house and opened fire on them. They said the police fired back and killed him on the spot. They also claimed to have recovered a 9mm pistol and more than 50 empty ammunition.

The suspect’s sister told the police that Gul arrived at the house in the afternoon and wanted to kill them, adding that after he went to get the weapon, the family locked himself in the room.

One of his sisters, Shabana Bibi (Shabana Bibi) said that the sisters are both married and have been visiting their mother after learning of the murder of their sister-in-law. “Arif arrived at home and first started beating our father,” she explained. “He also wanted to kill his two sisters. When we all locked ourselves in the same room, he continued to threaten to kill us.”
