Islamabad: Asad Umar, head of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), announced on Monday that the government is trying to vaccinate enough people before Eid so that the lockdown is no longer necessary.

After attending a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, which reviewed the country’s coronavirus situation, Umar talked about the government’s plans to carry out a press conference in Islamabad. exercise.

The Federal Planning Minister said that with the decline in the positive rate, the restrictions imposed by the government before Eid al-Fitr have come in handy.

He explained that these restrictions are “defensive actions” and affect people’s livelihoods, adding that the only way to get out of the current situation is to get vaccinated.

Umar said the government hopes that enough people will receive the Eid al-Fitr vaccination so that there is no need to impose restrictions like on Eid al-Fitr.

To this end, the minister said that the government is changing from a “holistic government approach” to a “holistic national approach.”

Umar said that under the guidelines of the entire government, “all departments, whether the federal government or the provincial government, are working together” to oppose COVID-19.

Umar said: “The next stage we are going to carry out is called the “national approach.” He added that this means “the whole country must work together” for vaccination.

Umar said: “In order to ensure that the vaccine can spread to everyone, we are launching a major campaign.”

The minister said that as a first step, the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) will hold a meeting with media owners and moderators tomorrow.

“We will take [media’s] Help in the campaign first. When the coronavirus was first reported, the media played an active role. In this way, we hope to carry out a large-scale vaccination campaign, focusing on why it is necessary to vaccinate. “The person in charge of NCOC said.

Umar said that the day after tomorrow, NCOC will invite Pakistan’s leading business forums and ask them to join the work of the government.

The head of NCOC said: “We will tell them how we can seek their help. We don’t want their money. We will provide them with vaccines and vaccinate their employees and their families through them.”

He also added that after contacting their people, the government will use their hospitals and mobile teams to reach ordinary people.

In the next step of the campaign, the minister said that the government will contact religious scholars in the country.

Umar said: “We have asked President Arif Alvi to convene a meeting of religious scholars and ensure that this message is conveyed to every Pakistani that it is your religious belief to take care of your health.” He also said that the government There will also be contacts with lawyers’ associations and journalist organizations.

Umar said: “At today’s meeting, the NCC approved our strategy, but the strategy will succeed not because of the NCC, but when everyone in Pakistan plays a role.”
