PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said on Friday that the government’s claimed budget increase of 4% was “based on a lie” and the public knew this.

Speaking at a meeting of the National Assembly chaired by Asad Qaiser, President of the National Assembly, Biraval said that the budget and budget meetings of the PTI-led government are “illegal.”

He said that the PTI government has been unable to award the National Finance Commission (NFC) award, which aims to allocate financial resources between the federal government and the provinces.

Bilawal said: “Before receiving the NFC award, every budget will be unconstitutional.”

Bilawal said that the PTI government “puts the poor in a miserable position” by introducing unrealistic budgets, adding that this is an “attack” on the people.

He said people will never forgive the government for pushing them further below the poverty line.

“If the budget increases the prices of gasoline, natural gas and electricity, then every Pakistani must bear the burden of the government’s incompetence,” Bilawal said, adding that if the economy grows, many people will not lose their jobs.

“The Prime Minister promised to provide people with 10 million jobs, but on the contrary, even those who were previously employed are now unemployed,” the PPP chairman said.

Bilawal said that if the country has achieved economic growth as claimed by the PTI-led government, then why must it “beg to the International Monetary Fund (IMF)”?

“If the economy improves significantly, then the government should immediately opt out of IMF transactions,” he said.

Bilawal laughed at the government again. He said that according to the economic survey, if nothing else, the number of donkeys in the country has increased, so Prime Minister Imran Khan’s policies must be praised.

Bilawal further stated that the PTI government has not even spared Azad Jammu and Kashmir and imposed taxes on the people there.

He said that only Rs 12 billion was earmarked for the agricultural sector, which is the backbone of the economy.

“The government has given up on farmer communities. They have not even received fertilizer subsidies,” Vilavar said.

Government’s response

In response to Bilawar’s remarks, Federal Minister of Energy Hamad Azhar gave a speech during the National Assembly meeting and challenged the opposition parties. He said: “If they have enough courage to listen to the truth, then they should stay in the House of Representatives until the end. .”

Hamad Azhar ridiculed the way Bilawar constantly switched between English and Urdu in his speech, implying that his speech skills were not enough to remove the corruption stains on someone’s character.

He said: “Those who have never done anything to improve the country’s economy and know nothing about it have made immature remarks about the government’s budget and economic policies.”

He asked the opposition parties to review the budget documents again and pointed out what taxes they claimed to have collected in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Azhar stated that the PPP government has a higher inflation rate during its tenure, adding that PPP has invested more in the International Monetary Fund than any other government in the past.

“It seems difficult for the opposition parties to digest the country’s 4% growth under the PTI rule,” Azhar said, adding that the PPP could not even achieve 1% growth during his five-year term.
