Professor Saeeduddin, chairman of the Karachi Intermediate Education Committee, said on Friday that the examinations for Intermediate Part 1 (Year 1) students will proceed as scheduled.

The chairman of the Intermediate Committee stated in a statement that the exam will begin on August 23 and end on September 13, and it is expected that more than 136,000 students will take the exam.

The development came after Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah announced that all schools in the province will be closed for one week longer than the previously announced date-until August 30.

The Chief Minister said at a press conference that educational institutions will resume face-to-face learning from August 30, which was originally scheduled to start next Monday.

CM Shah said that all teachers and parents also need to show their vaccination certificates. “Before the school reopens, all staff should be vaccinated.”

Later that day, the Chief Minister announced in a statement that in light of the coronavirus situation, the university will also be closed until August 30.
