Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Friday that the center is “reviewing” Sindh’s decision to impose a ban. Blockade across the province And will oppose any measures that have an adverse effect on the economy.

“The Prime Minister’s policy is clear on this point. We will oppose any action that adversely affects the lives of ordinary citizens,” said the Minister of Information.

He said that the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) and the Sindh provincial government must develop a strategy to minimize the impact on the livelihoods of ordinary citizens and businesses.

“PTI opposes the blockade in Karachi”

At the same time, PTI MPA Sindh Arsalan Taj stated that his party “opposes” the imposition of blockades in metropolises.

He said that a statement issued by a spokesperson for Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that PTI’s support for the decision was “untrue”.

He claimed that the PPP resorted to blockades in order to “destroy the city’s economy.”

NCOC “assisted the Sindh government”

Earlier, before the start of the Coronavirus Task Force meeting, NCOC stated that it had “decided to take all possible measures to assist the Sindh provincial government to respond to the rising trend of coronavirus in the province”, especially Karachi.

“The measures the federal government is taking include improving intensive care capacity, including oxygenated beds and vents, oxygen availability, and deployment of LEAs to implement SOP and NPI,” NCOC said.
