Karachi: In the past two days, a cargo ship was trapped near Karachi’s seascape beach. According to reports, the Karachi Port Trust Fund refused to rescue it.
According to Geographic News, the ship anchored in Karachi Port sank directly off the coast of Clifton. If this were a tanker like the Tasman Spirit, there would be a dangerous situation.
According to the Karachi Port Authority, the ship’s anchor broke, so it went ashore, but experts say that in this case, a distress signal will be issued.
According to experts, the port’s operating department is said to have failed to provide immediate assistance to the ship.
KPT sources told Geo News that the country’s largest port has no capacity to rescue ships from shallow waters, so these ships are likely to be stranded for a long time or be rescued by foreign salvage companies at high costs.

In a statement on Twitter, KPT confirmed that the ship was named Heng Tong 77. KPT stated that the ship was anchored in its territorial waters for crew changes.
“It has never entered or sailed into the KPT port. Due to the extreme weather, the ship lost its anchor in the early morning and started drifting into shallow waters,” the statement read.
KPT stated that when the vessel notified KPT that she was drifting, it was already in shallow water and clarified that the salvage of the vessel was the responsibility of the owner.
“All subsequent marine and environmental damage will be borne by the shipowner. The shipowner can obtain operational and technical assistance,” the statement concluded.
