On Wednesday, a businessman was shot dead in an apparently targeted attack in the Karachi Malil district. Al-Falah police stated that the incident took place near Jamia Millia, where an unidentified assailant opened fire on the victim’s car.
Officials said the man died on the spot, adding that after receiving information about the attack, the police and rescuers took the deceased to the Jinnah Graduate Medical Center (JPMC).
According to the police, the victim was identified as 32-year-old Raza Zulfiqar, who was a resident of the same area and operated a cement brick business. Officials said that according to their preliminary investigation, armed motorcyclists had been following him and then attacked him whenever they had the opportunity.
The police stated that they had found a 9mm pistol case from the crime scene and sent it to the Sindh police forensic department for ballistic cross matching, adding that they also tried to obtain CCTV camera footage to identify the suspect.
Officials said the incident might be a targeted killing, adding that the deceased’s father was a former trade union council member affiliated with the Islamic State Front. The police stated that the victim also had a daughter and added that after Isha prayed, his funeral prayers were performed near his residence, and he was then buried in a local cemetery.

According to Shah Latif police, 25-year-old Khusro Ibrahim was shot and injured in his jurisdiction while trying to rob him. They said he was taken to JPMC.
