Technology to ensure fair elections acceptable to everyone: PM Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Friday that they will use technology to increase the transparency of public opinion polls and hold elections acceptable to all.

The Prime Minister spoke to the media during his visit to the NADRA headquarters after the launch of the NADRA mobile truck, saying that the technology will put an end to voting violations, including stamping ballots.

“We want to make the lives of our citizens easier and eliminate fraud related to election fraud in society,” Imran Khan said.

He said that more than 3 million Afghan refugees are registered in Pakistan, and more refugees have not yet been registered. He said: “We will facilitate the opening of bank accounts for these people after the registration process.”

On August 7, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan witnessed a detailed demonstration of a new locally made electronic voting machine (EVM).

Federal Minister of Science and Technology Shibli Faraz and his department officials briefed PM Imran Khan on the working conditions of the electronic voting machine (EVM).

Shibli Faraz said that the EVM does not require an Internet connection and the software used in the machine is international standard, he added.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan witnessed a detailed demonstration of the EVM and voted. The Prime Minister also congratulated Shibli Faraz and his team for producing such an EVM.
